wtf u on mash? windoze is officially a piece of shit OS. ever tried anything else? i guess you need it for your daily free-to-download-and-play-mmorpg-with-ads-inside-your-inventory-grind-feast fix.

linux is fine as long as you dont do anything thats fun. everyting you get is 3rd party apps, so you end up with a messenger that has half the windows functionality and if you need to update a driver you better prepare to spend some time in front of a console window. last time i had linux was half a year ago (we had linux programming at university), and after 2 days of trying to install my printer i gave up. sound drivers are even worse, and doing any audio work is simply impossible because linux doesnt support any standards (no ASIO drivers, you gotta be kidding).
linux may be good if you need to program stuff, but if you just install it to be different then thats very short sighted. for me, personally, its lack of compatibility was so drastic that i simply had no use for it. so what made you drop windows?

True, when compared with windows, using Linux is kinda like being a digital vegetarian. Have to find substitutions, workarounds, learn anew, and mostly, read the <censored> manual. Loads of peeps can be arsed to do so and swap back to windows because it feels more comfortable to use the gained knowledge instead of learning something new. Understandable, to say the least. Unless you're going into IT, I wouldn't recommend linux for the home-multimedia-user.
Some distro's -like ubuntu- make it easier to cope with, looking like windows and acting as if they offer the same functionality. Until a problem occurs. That's when panic arises and the confusion is complete.
If you wanna be different, go for windows and customize it. If you wanna forget everything you knew about computers and start all over like the first time you touched a computer, go for Linux. If you wanna be a superficial jerk which likes to pay loads more to get less functionality just "because it looks nice", go for MacOs.
