Somewhere, back in...2004, I think, i wrote a program called Rune Cache Converter. It fishes maps out of your temporary downloaded files (Cache) and converts them to maps so you wont have to download the same maps every 2 weeks. This way, I have every map i ever played on. These days, when playing Rune, it still serves it's purpose. When talking to other Runers, I found out a description how to configure it is missing.
So, lets do this step by step.
1. Download the installer here.
2. Click the exefile to install it. Doesn't really matter where it will install, so c:\program files\Rcc will do.
3. It will start for the first time after it's installed. The main screen looks like this:
Click on Config in the upper left corner.
4. In the Configure window, make sure you tick the box next to Rune 1.00. Then click on the box behind it and point it to your main rune directory (C:\games\rune100 for example). Also, be sure to tick the box in the right saying Auto-start rune and decide how you want it to autostart by clicking on the Question combobox. If done properly, it should look abit like this:
5. Click save.
6. Click exit.
7. On your desktop, you now have a new icon, an empowered Rune icon. From now on, that's your icon to start rune. Forget the old black icon, this one replaces it.
Clicking on it will start RCC, which checks if there are new maps downloaded, converts them, and starts rune. Myself, i enjoy keeping it at a 5 Seconds countdown before starting. You can click the countdown itself to start straight away though.
Silly little things making life just abit easier. Don't ask me to change anything about the program though, i lost the sourcecode a long time ago.
