The only things I know about this are in the mover properties windows. Expand 'mover' and you see WorldRaytraceKey (changes position of shadow from the mover) and BrushRaytraceKey (changes the lighting on the mover). A normal lift has two keyframes (0=down, 1=up). If you want the lighting/shadow to be set as the lift was up, set mover property value to 1.
There is also a property called bDynamicLightMover. This is supposed make the mover lighting/shadow to change for every position it's in. I never got it to work though.
Hmm. Shouldn't there be some way to just set mover shadow=false?
There might also be some texture properties that might help. But those properties must be set before you make a mover of the brush.

mover lighting is by nature static. if what shex said doesnt work for you, add lights to your map so that the black area of the mover is sufficiently lit up (because of the static lighting, your mover will always have the lighting it had when the map started - unless you can get dynamic lighting to work).
if your mover is sunk into the floor in its default position, try to cut a "cave" for it to sink into and place light in that "cave".
