LARPers eh? I'd admit it, would be pretty cool to own a real world DWS. The downside is it would require rune players to appreciate it. To the rest of the world you're just a geek. Same as with ADnD, Magic the gathering, and all those other games which are played in secret basements and dark attics. Where they belong.
The people which actually dress up like vikings are the ones which took it just too far. Reality and fiction/history should not mix. Ever. Any forum where people are confused about it: stay CLEAR!
