This is the launch for RuneTV! A brand new, one and only, livestream just for Rune! First of all we have launched a forum and a Twitter for you guys to follow our latest updates and news. So. What does RuneTV provide? We, or mainly I, will stream Rune games such as clanwars, tournaments, duels, leagues and such for public view without any huge load on the server. We will require one or at the topmost two spots on the server for spectating. This will be bundled with a commentator explaining, talking and analyzing the current game being streamed out for you. This because livestreamed with live commenatry games have become very populare in other games such as WoW arena, CS, Halo 3, SC2 etc. The stream is ofcourse free, streamed at 1800 bitrate, 1920x1080 resolution and from a 100/100 connection. It has been tested and it runs smooth and good. We have a first test stream here for you to view to check out quality, sound etc. (please note that the ingame sound has been lowered)For further information about the service at our forums here. I really need you to come with suggestions, help me out so we get the stream as perfect as possible. For further questions, comments and input, please post here or at our forums, or alternatively pm me.

very good job. by the way, heres another idea - how about a constant livestream? i mean, pick ultimate server for example. there could be a 24/7 server feed live on the web, via an automated spectator that sits in the server and randomly switches players so people see different perspectives. i dont know if that would exceed the available bandwidth you can provide, but if the idea sounds interesting to you id be willing to do any rune-side coding that is required.
ps - another thing. would it be possible to feed runeplayer's voices into the live feed? like over teamspeak or something? i think it would be awesome to hear people screaming the worst insults at each other..

That is very much possible, but if I'm supposed to do it it will require me to not use one of my screens on yhe computer, since It''s my personal desktop and such. Which wouldn't be that beneficial for me. And I figure it would be quite boring to look at that all the time without commentators. I feel that if I do streams from gaems and comment them there will be something to look forward to and view for the rune community, instead of an ongoing stream that would only show public play. Of course I can do some public-commenting and streaming if that's what the community wants, but those would be not too long and just for fun and such.
It is possible to feed them, it's easiest for me if I have them in a conversation on skype, since that would make you hear them all the time while they are playing. This would ofcourse make me go silent due to the fun nature of hearing nerdrages and such, and of course I will have the option to mute them and go in with some input of my own. But this would require co-ordination on the teams'' part and obviously a tournament that team-based.
Thanks for the input mundas, it really gets the mind flowing! I will look into that last paragraph of yours since it sounds very interesting to do that sometime!

i hope you see the difficulty with streaming clanwars. A player could just have the stream open in a separate window to see where his enemies are (or someone else helps him over teamspeak). You would need to have a delay of like 30 secs between game and broadcast to prevent this issue.

Yea mundas we talked about that, currently there is a 10 second delay in the stream, so you cannot really rely on the information on the stream when you are playing. If 10 seconds isn't enough in a fast-paced game like rune is, I'll see if I can get the delay up for you. Thanks for the input!

This Rune-TV got more positive reactions than I first thought. Besides the actual live streaming, it's also nice to be able to go back and look at the games after awhile. Feels a lot better than playing those demerecs. Record the old games and put them up as well, like Trouble said. I must add that your commentary is great, DD! I was afraid that it would get weird with someone commenting a Rune game. But you were born to do this. Keep it up! Edit: Have some patience with the Rune-TV board. I've been a bit busy this week. But I havn't forgot about it.

Thank you shex, that makes the commentary even more fun to do. I really enjoy it and I know there are some stuff I need to improve, like Stream Quality, skips, better commenting and lesser movement with the camera, I feel very happy with the outcome so far, and I'll do my best now when BHB tournament kicks in to it's second round!
